Our Mission Statement
The faith community of the Diamond Bar United Church of Christ is committed to Jesus’ gospel
message of inclusion, justice, and peace. We are a diverse group who worships, sings, eats,
serves our neighbor, cares for the vulnerable and welcomes all to explore their relationship with
God.

Open and Affirming
We are an Open and Affirming ("ONA") congregation joyfully welcoming and accepting people
of every sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, economic status, gender, age, or personal ability.
We are here to bear witness to the inclusiveness of God’s grace and love.

The United Church of Christ is a non-hierarchical, progressive denomination committed to the
unity of the Church. With a rich history tying faith to social justice, the UCC continues to challenge its
members to explore cutting edge theology and service to the world.

We understand that faith is a matter of mind as well as heart and that taking the Bible seriously
means it cannot always be taken literally. We know that God’s love embraces all persons equally,
no matter their gender, race, or sexual identity. We believe that the social expression of love is
justice and that God calls us to be peacemakers and to cherish the natural world. We wish for an
open and embracing community of faith to nurture our spirit and raise our children.

DBUCC has intentionally adopted four formal designations offered by the United Church of Christ.
Open and Affirming Every sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, economic status, gender, age, or
personal ability
